The Art of Tea

During her Qigong studies, Gabriela also took time to study the Chinese Art of Tea, known as Cha Dao (θŒΆι“), with tea masters in China and Taiwan.  Over the years she has built up a rare collection of organic, aged, oolong, red, and puerh tea, which she shares in small group tea sessions from 1030-1200 the first Saturday morning of every month.

Gabriela chooses teas based on their healing properties, the season, and the brewing method best for the group and the day.  This may include a relaxed session of leaves unfolding in a bowl right through to much more focused Gongfu tea.

Properly prepared Chinese tea, and especially aged, old-growth, organic tea, is not only a pleasant beverage and pick-me-up, but can also be a very healthful tonic cleansing and strengthening our bodies.  A mindful session can help bring us towards a calm and peaceful focus.  It is this spirit of mindfulness and Qigong healing that Gabriela brings to each tea session.
